Kristin Gallegos was born and raised in Long Beach, California. She has been interested in fashion from the time she was a little girl flipping through her mother's fashion magazines. After studying classical ballet for 8 years at some of the country's most prestigious academies, the California native decided to switch creative gears to pursue her love of beauty and fashion. She began her career by obtaining her esthetician license in an effort to develop a relationship with skincare. Years later she maintains the philosophy that there is an inextricable link between perfect makeup and perfect skin. Creating beautiful, flawless skin is something she prides herself on.
In 2004, Kristin moved to NYC where she began assisting and working with an impressive group of artists including Dick Page, Lisa Butler, and Diane Kendal. This training helped her to learn the fundamentals and to refine her own aesthetic. Kristin's sophisticated yet progressive style has led her to work with legendary photographers such as Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier, and David Bailey. It has also given her the opportunity to work with photographers such as Collier Schorr, Terry Richardson, and Liz Collins. Along with having done editorial work for the likes of Vogue, V Magazine, and Self Service, she has also created looks for advertising campaigns of Rolex, Victorinox Swiss Army, Commes des Garcons Shirt, H and M, and Urban Outfitters. Kristin's easy going and amicable personality has not only made her a favorite amongst clients Michelle Monaghan, Amy Ryan, and Amber Heard, but has also brought her fearless and bold work to key shows for designers such as Naeem Khan, Katie Gallagher, Savant, and Araks.
Kristin's love of transformation and versatility keep her in demand. She not only draws inspiration from the people she works on, but also from her obsession with fashion, pop culture, art, cinema, and music. The young, talented former dancer has a refreshing approach to makeup that is uniquely her own.
